One of the best-known and highly respected pastoralists of the western district, Mr Henry Campbell, has died at his residence, Skeldon, Darling Point Road, Edgecliff. He was born at Dalrymple, Ayrshire, Scotland, 75 years ago, and at the age of 16 arrived with his family in the year1860 (sic.) and settled in Victoria. B On reaching manhood’s estate he entered into partnership with his late brother, John, and acquired properties successively in Victoria and New South Wales. Later he purchased on his own behalf Eenaweena Station, in the Warren district, and more recently a fine property near Coonamble, known as Mount Tenandra. Each of these estates he developed very thoroughly, and, despite droughts, rabbits, and other difficulties, he succeeding in maintaining some fine flocks of merino sheep. Owing to failing health he resided in Sydney with members of this family during the last two years. He is survived by a widow, one son, Mr A. J. Campbell, of Mount Tenandra, and eight daughters, Mesdames, W. Poole, A.S. Mc cook, J. Walker, and J. R. Frend, and Misses Barbara, Helen, Esther, and Margaret Campbell. Of the four brothers who came to Australia with him, Mr Charles Campbell, of Merino Downs, Roma, Queensland, alone survives.
